SKIPTON is a lively market town with ancient castle, beautiful parish church and museum. You can also enjoy a canal trip on the Leeds/Liverpool canal or visit the Steam Railway at Embsay just one mile away.

Golf, swimming, squash, tenniss, snooker and ten pin bowling are all within walking distance.

For the evening there are limitless pubs and restaurants to suit all tastes. There is a cinema just down the road and a number of social events are held throughout the year at various venues.

• BOLTON ABBEY owned by teh Devonshire estate
• MALHAM with the renowned limestone paving and impressive Cove
• HAWORTH whose main street leads up to the Bronte Parsonage and up on to the moors, the location of Wuthering Heights
• HARROGATE a spa town renowned for its stunning floral displays, and upmarket shops

The train station is just a few minutes walk from Craven House where, to the north, you can travel on the Settle/Carlisle line or in the opposite direction to Leeds and Bradford.
